religulous

i saw this movie last week and thought it was hilarious. i don't think that it had anything to say about the streams of judaism, christianity, and islam that are not extreme. as a liberal jew i felt perfectly comfortable walking out of the movie and into synagogue the next morning. because i choose to live in the modern world and acknowledge the course of human history and adapt my religious practice as judaism has done since the destruction of the second temple, bill maher can make fun of religion all he wants. he just needs to find some capacity to tolerate me.
