i'm a convert

i am officially a convert.  i love my kindle.  i read my first book, the lost symbol, and i found it easy to use, even easier to read from, and that i was able to read a significant amount more than i would have otherwise.  i read on the train in nyc, i read while waiting for a friend who went to the washroom, i read before i went to sleep at night.  i am already into my next book and i downloaded a few others while in the usa and i am thrilled that i will be able to download books in canadia now too. 

i hear from others that they are able to read more and one of the best features is that the type size can be enlarged based upon one's needs.  if anyone has a hard time seeing, the kindle could make reading a breeze.  i have not yet thought about a subscription to a magazine or newspaper, though i am aware from THE DIVA that keeping the whispernet wireless on all the time burns through battery like nothing else.  i am thinking about maybe looking at a magazine but i will have to see.  one thing at a time. 

i also got another chanukah present early, this coat.  it is extremely warm and it is so compact that it fits into a tiny pouch which will make it ideal for travel (or i should say returning to the cold weather from the warm).  i miss living in the usa. 

musings

i am tired.  not the tired where i am not sleeping.  i have the tired that comes from the inside out.  i feel it in my muscles (though that is also from a ridiculously hard workout yesterday), i feel it in my energy level, and i feel it in my brain.  the last few weeks have been incredibly packed but completely wonderful.

the biennial was here in t-town and it seems that practically every person that i know was in town.  this is clearly an exaggeration, however, it was fantastic to see so many people i know and so many people i love and even get quality time with them while running between the convention center at ts again and again. 

then my dad came to visit and we had a fantastic time, too.  we went to niagara falls and niagara-on-the-lake.   the power of nature is awesome and as long as i kept my back to the kitchy crap it was a lovely experience.  why i had not gone before is still somewhat mind boggling and i just need more visitors to come and visit to do it again (yes, i'm talking to YOU!).

in honor of the fact that the maternity leave that i have been covering for the past five months is almost over i got myself a kindle. it is being shipped to the DIVA and it is awaiting my arrival in ny for thanksgiving.  if you have any fabulous books that you would like to recommend i am always open to suggestions.  at present, i am reading this and i strongly recommend it.
