since honesty is most important here, i will confess that technically i never attended a vsk camp. one year i was a baby-sitter at ptvsj but it wasn't until i spent two summers at klutz that i really felt like i could speak about jewish camping with any experience. now i sit at the vsk camp in canadia and i am impressed by the potential for this type of organization and the profound missed opportunities all around me.
music is really important. one of the unifying aspects of the reform movement is music. i am surprised how song session is such a low priority here. i sit here with the song leader and am running through songs that the campers know and it is as though they are trapped ten years ago when this camp opened. this is particularly of interest to me because people have talked to me about doing a camp reunion type service at ts and it seems that i need to plan this for my parents to know the songs...

mosquitoes and i are really not friends, well, they like me but i really don't like them. they are itchy and i hate the smell of blood spray. any ideas of how not to get bitten or how to handle the bites once they occur, let me know.
